Description

NEW ES4SB220 capacitor block circuit board for high voltage power supply in Heathkit SB220 or SB221 linear amplifier. Comes partially assembled with (8) 100K ohm 5 watt resistors checked prior to installation. This board requires customer provided capacitors to complete. Requires Eight electrolytic capacitors. Capacitors required are snap-in 35mm diameter with 10mm terminal spacing and less than 100mm height (that is the height of the original Heathkit parts). Recommended capacitors are MINIMUM 220 mfd @ 450v rated but MORE is better. I regularly use 330 or 390 mfd at 450 v to 500 v rated. Recommended capacitors are rated at 105 deg C and long life type. More is better but the higher the ratings the higher the cost. Capacitors should be same type, same manufacturer, and ideally from the same batch. Totally users choice.
