MacLeod is a wildlife and seascape artist from Midlothian, Virginia. John works in oil, pastel and watercolor. His extensive study of all forms of wildlife in its habitat has led to a nationwide following and recognition. He has participated in the Easton Waterfowl Festival, worked with the Ward Foundation, and exhibited in the Philadelphia Wildlife Exposition and the First Southeastern Wildlife Exposition. He won “Artist of the Year” for Ducks Unlimited in Georgia 1979 and Delaware 1977-81. MacLeod was educated at Virginia Military Institute and Lynchburg College, where he was a history major. He was also a paratrooper in the United States Army. He is an avid outdoorsman and photographer for all aspects of nature. He paints many scenes of the Chesapeake Bay area, an area he loves dearly.
