Kenwood TS-711A/E AVR Board Power Supply Capacitor Replacement Kit This is a complete electrolytic capacitor replacement kit for the AVR board of the Kenwood TS-711A. Electrolytic capacitors have a design life span and deteroriate with age,useage, and heat or a combination of all three. The TS-711A is now 25+ years old, so if you plan on keeping it going for many more years, its a good time to consider replacing the power supply capacitors. The kit includes all electrolytic capacitors used on the AVR board. The AVR board is the heart of the TS-711A, providing all filtered and regulated voltages for the radio. Replacing these capacitors now will not only prevent failure in the future, but also reduces the possibility of a component failure taking out rectifiers. Included in the kit is an installation guide. In the case of the TS-711A, replacing the AVR power supply filter capacitors is a relatively simple task for the hobbyist. Technical Notes: ** There is no re-tuning of the radio required as the capacitors being changed are power supply related. The kit is comprised of the following brand new Panasonic or Nichicon capacitors (13 in all): 10uf 16V - Qty 4 100uf 16V - Qty 1 470uf 16V - Qty 3 1000uf 16/25V - Qty 3 15000uf/25V - Qty 2 The capacitor kit shown in the photo is generic in nature as I have a wide variety of kits for Icom, Kenwood and Yaesu. Capacitors used in the kits are brand new Nichicon/Panasonic rated at 85 deg. C or higher.
