Nicely custom framed and matted print by Wassily Kandinsky (1866-1944), Title: "Farbstudie Quadrate" c.1913. Also called "Color Study of Squares and Circles" or "Square with Concentric Circles" The original painting was watercolor, gouache and crayon on paper. This lithographic poster is on paper and has been custom framed. Kandinsky liked to create art that explored the emotional and expressionistic uses of color. He liked to combine different shapes with various colors to see which felt "good" or "right" to him. He would paint colors next to each other to see how they would play against each other in different light. "Square with Concentric Circles" is one of his color studies.
