Seller contacted artist directly and he provided he following information - “Definitely my work made about 1990 in Buffalo. It is a mono print, painted on glass and transferred on to wet paper. I can’t think of Ed’s last name but he moved to Hartford CT and passed away. Maybe Ed Wozniak. Very nice guy bought it directly from me a long time ago.” Bio from artist website “Neil Tetkowski creates art that communicates beyond cultural barriers. It is with this global perspective that his artwork is embraced throughout the world. Tetkowski has led many public art performances with community participation. These events and installations reflect his conviction that art can be a vital community process accessible to a broad audience. His material of choice comes directly from the Earth, and most often he uses clay, which he believes is the perfect medium to express his relationship to the natural environment. Some of Tetkowski’s projects have evolved into cultural, ecological and geopolitical exploration. In 2000, the artist conceived and built a sculpture at the United Nations using a blend of earth materials from every nation. There he physically involved people from every country of the world. The Common Ground World Project was officially endorsed at the United Nations as an environmental project and was exhibited in its completed form in 2002 at the Visitor’s Lobby in New York. Neil Tetkowski spent his early years in Siena, Italy, where he attended grammar school for several years. Both parents were in the arts and this provided an early foundation for what would become a lifetime passion for creativity, education, and a fascination with diverse cultures of the world. Before his tenth birthday, Tetkowski had crossed the Atlantic Ocean three times by ship and had visited museums and cultural landmarks in more than twenty countries. Since 1980 Tetkowski has exhibited his artwork in galleries and museums. He has a special interest in Asian culture and has had three solo exhibitions in Tokyo and a major solo show in Beijing. In 2015 Rethinking Mythos: A Mid-career Retrospective of Neil Tetkowski was featured at the Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery in Ontario. Tetkowski’s artwork is widely published and is represented in the permanent collections of fifty museums, including the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., and the Museum of Modern Art Kogaikan in Tokyo. Neil Tetkowski holds degrees from Alfred University and Illinois State University. He has been the Director of University Galleries at Kean University in New Jersey, professor at Denison University in Ohio, the State University College at Buffalo, and at Parsons School of Design in New York City. Neil Tetkowski lives in Manhattan and his studio is in the Bronx” Seller attempted to research Ed Wozniak and came up with the below biography possibly of the original buyer of this piece. “Edward J. Wozniak Born to John and Frances (Malachowski) Wozniak in Buffalo, New York in 1955, Ed adopted New London, CT as his second home in 1999. He combined the sharp pencil of his financial oversight with his deep-rooted love of the arts to strengthen several community organizations in both cities. Professionally and philanthropically, Ed followed his belief in supporting the core institutions of the places he chose to live. His uphill fight against pancreatic cancer reflected the courage, faith and discipline that were the hallmarks of his life. Serving as Chief Financial Officer of the Community Foundation of Eastern CT for eight years, Ed oversaw the expansion of the Foundation from the shoreline towns to all of eastern Connecticut. In that time, he helped quadruple the Foundation's assets. Prior to that, Ed was the director of finance and administration at the Garde Arts Center in New London and at the Shea Performing Arts Center in Buffalo. He rose up through many accounting positions in his 15 years with the Tops Supermarket chain to become their manager of corporate accounting. Ed earned a BS in Accounting from the State University of New York, Buffalo. Ed was inducted into the Peterson Society of SUNY Buffalo in 2010. Ed's nonprofit experience was central to his philosophy of life, inspiring him to give generously of his time, talent and treasure. In New London, Ed served as parish administrator for St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, as treasurer of NL Parks Conservancy, Alliance for Living, and Covenant Shelter, and as a member of the distribution committee for the Shea Fund. In Buffalo, Ed served as vice chair and trustee of the Burchfield-Penney Art Center, was named a life member of the Albright-Knox Art Gallery and served as a member of the City of Buffalo Cultural Task Force. Ed treasured the diverse range of creative and artistic offerings that enlivens the communities of Buffalo and New London. He established a permanently endowed fund to ensure access to the arts for underserved children forever.”
