Such an unusual find. I believe this was a labor of love and a Mennonite mother created this customized frame for her daughter's photo. But that is speculation based on finding it in Lancaster County, PA. One form of folk art sometimes practiced in the old days down that way was foil pictures... the ladybug here looks like it was done in that style. Just a really sweet tribute to somebody's lovebug!
