Description

Still thinning out my ham radio collection. For sale is a nice looking, clean Gonset G-76 HF transceiver, power supply and a copy of the operating manual. The transceiver includes the optional Gonset crystal calibrator. Cosmetically: The cabinet is in pretty decent condition with the usual scrapes, minor scratches and blemishes. The front panel of both the transceiver and power supply are near perfect. The chasses are clean. Please see the photographs. Operationally: The radio is working and comes with the optional Gonset crystal calibrator. The radio covers the original 80 meter to 10 meter bands. The 6 meter receiver is deaf and you can only transmit on 6 meters if you have the proper crystals; which is why I only list it as an HF transceiver. There are 2 crystal sockets on the back of the radio. Good signals were received on the open bands and the closed bands were checked with a signal generator. The radio is rated at 120 watts INPUT on CW and 100 Watts INPUT on AM. When tested by transmitting into a dummy load the transmitter had about 55 watts out in CW on all bands except for 15 and 10 meters where the output was 40 watts. AM was only tested for output and was the same as for CW. The power supply was recapped at some point in its past. The lucky buyer really needs to read the manual FIRST before trying to transmit. This "transceiver" is rather unique. It was made when transceivers were coming into fashion instead of separate transmitters and receivers. The G-76 is really a separate receiver and transmitter. While no big deal to use, it is different, and without reading the manual first you will have problems. Please see the photographs of the chassis. Please examine the photographs closely as they are part of the description. If you have any questions, please ask them before you bid. Even though it will go in the box working, because of the radios age, it is being sold AS IS. There is NO guarantee stated or implied. I do NOT accept returns and NO overseas bids. Only CONUS bids. The radio will be carefully packed and shipped, insured and tracked via FedEx. The box is heavy (50 lbs) because it contains both the transceiver and power supply. The lucky buyer has 3 days to provide payment. Thank you for looking.
