Former South African cricketer Gulam Bodi in match-fixing scam

South African cricket has been caught up in another match-fixing scam after the country’s national cricket body charged former player Gulam Bodi with corruption.
It is alleged that he attempted to influence results in last year’s Ram Slam Twenty20 challenge, South Africa’s answer to the Indian Premier League and Australia’s Big Bash, according to Daily Mail.
Cricket South Africa says Bodi is the “intermediary” who was charged under its anti-corruption code in December, reports BBC.
It further reports that the India-born 37-year-old , who is yet to respond, is charged with “contriving to fix, or otherwise improperly influence aspects of the 2015 Ram Slam T20 Challenge Series”.
Bodi has played in two one-day internationals and one Twenty20 match for South Africa in 2007, before retiring from domestic cricket last year.
And as the Daily Mail reports, it is 16 years since former South Africa captain Hansie Cronje became involved in the biggest match-fixing scandal cricket has seen and was banned for life from the game and officials here are bracing themselves for more damaging allegations to come out.
